More details about this position opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. INVISTA is currently seeking a Commercial Paralegal to join its Apparels team located in Wilmington, DE.
The successful candidate will operate with a sense of urgency and pos! sess the ability to work under tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and accountability. This position is fulfilling to a candidate who thinks economically, critically, and strategically.
Responsibilities
Assist with drafting, proofreading and redlining of contracts and other commercial documents; manage document distributions and versioning.
Assist with oversight and implementation of divisional sharepoint programs to manage/track commercial legal workload and projects.
Assist with due diligence activities, including organization and preparation of summaries of due diligence materials and working with virtual data rooms.
Review and summarize contracts and other legal documents.
Review, organize and maintain commercial legal records.
Work closely with EP business and support functions, including Finance, Procurement, Sales and Human Resources, and participate in cross-functional teams.
Manage i! nternet and intranet document management systems to support co! mmercial legal needs/projects.
Filing of Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) with US PTO.
Management of the IDS Docket for patent group.
Manage specialized prior art databases for use in preparing and submitting IDS forms and references.
Review new patent applications for references to prior art.
Assist with due diligence pertaining to patent matters (status, chain of title, third party and/or competitor patent portfolio reports, etc.).
Assist in preparing analytical data charts and presentations related to patent searches utilizing internet based program tools.
Provide paralegal backup for all patent support positions as needed.
Draft internal communications to attorneys related to IDS filings, as well as direct communication with clients related to prior art reference requests.
Process and monitor prior art references.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
Associate! s Degree in Paralegal or Legal Assistant Studies
OR graduate certificate from an ABA approved paralegal education program
OR 5+ years of experience as a paralegal
3+ years of Commercial legal and Intellectual Property experience
Experience drafting, proofing, and redlining of contracts and documents
Previous experience with document management systems
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in legal assistant studies
Experience with docketing
Experience with patent filings
Experience with due diligence regarding patent matters
