Drafting, proofreading and redlining of contracts and other commercial documents in relation to company templates; manage document distributions and versioning. Assist with oversight and implementation of divisional sharepoint programs to manage/track commercial legal workload and projects. Assist with due diligence activities, including organization and preparation of summaries of due diligence materials and working with virtual data rooms. Review and summarize contracts and other legal documents. Review, organize and maintain commercial legal records. Work closely with EP business and support functions, including Finance, Procurement, Sales and Human Resources, and participate in cross-functional teams. Manage internet and intranet document management systems to support commercial legal needs/projects. Filing of Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) with US PTO. Manage specialized prior art da! tabases for use in preparing and submitting IDS forms and refe! rences. Complete all formal documents and forms with accuracy for various aspects of patent filings and prosecution, including the docketing of such. Assist with due diligence pertaining to patent matters (status, chain of title, third party and/or competitor patent portfolio reports, etc.). Assist in preparing analytical data charts and presentations related to patent searches utilizing internet based program tools. Provide paralegal backup for all patent support positions as needed. The successful candidate will operate with a sense of urgency and possess the ability to work under tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and accountability. This position is fulfilling to a candidate who thinks economically, critically, and strategically.
Responsibilities:
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal secretary
- 3+ years of Commercial legal or Intellectual Property experience
- Experience drafting, proofing, and! redlining of contracts and documents
- Previous experience with document management systems
- Associates Degree in Paralegal or Legal Assistant Studies OR graduate certificate from an ABA approved paralegal education program
- Experience with docketing
- Experience with patent filings
- Experience with due diligence regarding patent matters
