OVERVIEW ? Overall responsibility for the claims finance, compliance and analysis functions for ACE North American Claims. Leading a team of 15 finance and compliance staff, this includes key claim performance measures, results analysis, management information and trends, cost/benefit analyses, vendor financial management, accounting, disbursements and loss registration, loss cost management, cash flow and business forecasting, divisional consulting, and planning and budgeting. ? Supports all ACE North American businesses including: Group, Brandywine/Resolute, Commercial Risk, Westchester, APRS, Canada, & Warranty. ? Collaborates with internal/external partners: P&C Finance, P&C Operations, Actuarial, Reinsurance Services, ACE IT/IBM, multiple vendors, attorneys, excess carriers, brokers, risk managers, state and regulatory agencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
ANALYTICS ? Manage a team that Builds and maintains key performance metrics. Conduct periodic review with aligned business leaders and actuarial. ? Meet MIS reporting committed timelines. ? Provide competitive analysis, stewardship, and benchmarking to business partners and selected clients. ? Complete cash flow projections reports. ? Evaluate ULAE and ALAE trends and cost reduction opportunities. ? Complete sampling to support all audits, data mining analytics, volumes/inventories, and caseloads by business. ? Provides extensive claim related analytics to a variety of requesters ? regulators, actuarial, business units, claims.

COMPLIANCE ? Manage division?s control and internal risk management environment with the goal of achieving no control or audit exceptions. ? Develops and maintains claim procedures; SOX descriptions and controls. Ensures testing and attestations are properly conducted. ? Completes extensive state insurance department and regulatory requests. Participates in IAIABC, AIA/NAMIC, NCCI, ISO, CMS efforts. ? Supports internal audit, PwC, and all regulatory requests. Manages adjuster licensing; SOX and audits. ? Risk mitigation efforts include Sarbanes Oxley documentation, training, and sampling via ACL and other tools. ? Complete ongoing SOX support along with PwC substantive tests and attestations to minimize risks. ? Meet all state mandated or negotiated due dates. ? Install, review, and manage TPA compliance related action plans. ? Use available compliance informational tools to provide TPAs and internal staff with regulatory updates semi-annually.

FUNDING / AGGREGATES ? Support ZBA daily funding expansion with TPAs, ARCM, Treasury, A&H, and ARM. ? Provide consulting for new approved automated reconciliation process using SunGard vendor with Treasury. ? Manage and communicate TPA imprest levels, obtain reimbursements, and assess increase needs. ? Maintain timely and accurate client and TPA payment servicing. ? Conduct semi annual fraud detection sampling tests. ? Manage aggregate limit monitoring, controls, research, clearinghouse, and use of ARCS while meeting committed dates.

ULAE ? Monitor, report and support achievement of ACE North American Claims consolidated budget. ? Provide monthly staffing and ULAE exhibits, required forecasts, and staffing projections within required timelines. ? Manage annual budget process beginning mid year and meet timelines. ? Complete and update in conjunction with selected key technical managers a revised competitive recommended caseload Model.

CONSULTING ? Act in consulting capacity as needed for assigned projects and inquiries. ? Provide input and management insight to senior levels as opportunities arise. ? Support data requests and specifications for Group Claims within agreed timeframes. ? Support ATLAS, Data Mart, Global Dashboard, and various Steering and Data Quality task forces/committees ? Provide ongoing input to TPA Scorecard, approved vendors, and Partners. ? Participate in quarterly business reviews, outside audits, and quarterly PwC briefing meetings.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS ? Education: BS in Accounting, Finance, or Insurance, MBA highly desirable ? Experience: 10+ years in progressively responsible leadership roles with familiarity in operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and regulations. ? Comprehensive experience in underwriting product management, finance, systems and claims in both field and home office capacities. ? Outcome and results oriented. Focuses on getting things done with attention to detail. ? Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential. ? Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. ? High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. ? PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of SQL, COGNOS, and Excel is preferred. ?
