Vice President and Associate General Counsel The candidate will provide legal advice and counsel to bank and bank's consumer lending business, including p! rivate education loans, on applicable laws and regulations. Will advise the business as to the impact of these laws and regulations on all aspects of consumer lending including product development, marketing, underwriting and servicing of lending products, as well as support banking generally. Reviewing marketing materials, customer agreements, legal disclosures, and advising on marketing and new product development. Interface with regulators as needed. Provide legal support to exam management, compliance and audit teams. Participate in numerous project planning meetings, communicate regularly with internal counsel to ensure consistency of guidance, review risks of new products and assess regulation applicability, liaise with outside counsel, manage and mentor other in-house counsel.
The candidate should have a Juris Doctor degree and be Licensed and in good standing with any State Bar. Should have top credentials and 10+ years of relevant law firm, in-house (finan! cial services/bank), or regulatory experience. Experience of m! anaging attorneys and mentoring others needed. Extensive knowledge of and experience of advising on laws applicable to Banking and Consumer Finance including the TILA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP/UDAP, TISA,, Sections 23A/B, CRA, GLBA and other privacy laws, as well as advertising and marketing laws including CAN-SPAM Act, TCPA, TSR is required. Prior dealings with regulatory agencies such as the FDIC and the CFPB, is highly desirable. Strong educational background needed.
