Our Subrogation Claims Representatives will:
o Follow up on investigations, conduct research to recoup money paid on a claim from at-fault parties, and develop a recovery strategy. o Use claims handling software to establish fair recovery amounts and negotiate settlements. o Use strong customer service skills to work with the policyholder to make payments for deductible reimbursement.

o Bachelors Degree. o Excellent organizational, customer service, time management, negotiation and problem-solving skills. o Outgoing personality that would enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people including policyholders, witnesses, agents, attorneys, experts, and insurance carriers.

Position Requirements
In a typical day a Subrogation claims representative:
- researches subrogation matters to determine best collection method;
- interacts with policyholders, witnesses, agents, attorneys and other legal personnel,
- makes payments for deductible reimbursement;
- confirms damages, prepares for arbitration and reports file status; and
- establishes fair recovery amounts and negotiates settlements
To succeed, a Subrogation CR must:
- possess excellent organizational, time management, negotiation and problem-solving skills;
- obtain and maintain an adjuster’s license in states that require licensing;
- be proactive, assertive and open-minded;
- be curious and eager to ask “why?â€;
- be able to work both independently and as part of a team;
- be an excellent communicator who writes well and is comfortable talking with people; and
- be computer-savvy: able to quickly learn and use both Farmers-proprietary and industry

Education Requirements
Four-year college degree required. Outside insurance education, e.g., CPCU, GCA is preferred.
Experience Requirements
Customer service experience.
