Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of a portfolio of valuable Trust and Investment Management accounts providing a premium level of service. Contributes to the growth and profitability of the Unit through the close control of new business in accordance with the terms of the governing document and the policies and procedures of the unit as amended from time to time. To provide and maintain Trust and related administrative duties within the unit and to ensure the growth and profitability of RBC Trust Company (Delaware) Limited. Assists with the maintenance of the company’s policies, procedures and internal controls and in fulfilling its obligations through commitment to both internal and external auditors.
Key Accountabilities:
Trust Administration
Primarily responsible for relationship management with Settlors, Beneficiaries, or other client contacts in relation to the structure under administration
Ensures the effective, efficient and profitable administration of trusts, investment management accounts and other related financial structures for clients in conjunction with clients’ legal, tax and financial advisory team.
Attendance at meetings or calls with clients and/or their advisors and the development of relationships with them in conjunction with the primary relationship manager.
Attendance to correspondence and telephone contact with clients and/or their advisors on all matters in a timely and efficient manner in order to implement and progress the objectives of each case.
Ascertain and clarify client requirements, objectives and expectations.
Administer Trust and Investment Management accounts with diversified investment portfolios in accordance with the terms of the governing document, the laws of the relevant country and the policies and procedures of the Unit as amended from time to time
Assist in establishing investment objectives for each case
Responsible for Annual Trust reviews on each account.
Liaise with clients, portfolio managers, auditor’s , attorney and other professionals as required
Responsible for the administration of client affairs to meet deadlines ensuring that regular administration aspects are documented and acted on
General Internal Administration/Service Excellence
Continue to learn new technological enhancements in order to remain on top of current developments with regard to the computer systems and programs
Ensures adherence to the company’s policies, procedures and internal controls and in fulfilling its obligations through commitment to both internal and external auditors
Comply with internal controls and systems to ensure annual review issues and audit points are all dealt with promptly
Ensures that all administrative, risk and client servicing issues, including all incoming correspondence are attended to in a timely and accurate manner
Meets or exceeds service standards agreed upon with client.
Maintain all relevant trust or other fiduciary structure records currently and accurately.
Leadership
Contribute to overall effectiveness of the group and unit by providing support to other members of the group and interacting and communicating with colleagues.
Provide input on trust policies and procedures-Maintain and develop a reputation in the community as an effective and respected trust professional
Knowledge/Experience:
Product Knowledge
Have at least 5 years relevant experience in trust/ financial services environment
Undergraduate degree and internationally recognized professional qualification (CTFA, TEP), international trust experience desired
Sound knowledge of Trust and Fiduciary Structures
Proficient in Microsoft Office(Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Global Trust or Global Office systems experience preferred)
Other Requirements
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work effectively bearing in mind the time spent and the fee charged to the case
Ability to work using one’s own initiative
Seek out advice from Senior staff promptly as and when appropriate
Relationship Management
In conjunction with the SRM (Senior Relationship Manager) and as part of the client’s professional service team, establishes and maintains long-term profitable relationships.
In conjunction with the SRM (Senior Relationship Manager) work for efficient resolution of client problems/issues
In conjunction with the SRM (Senior Relationship Manager) become involved in the strategic client review process and develop appropriate strategies customized to the client’s unique situation.
