Social Media Coordinator [Canada]


 

BHPN:

The Black Healthcare Professionals Network (BHPN) is an initiative that aims to connect Black healthcare professionals across Canada. Our mission is to provide a platform for networking, professional development, and community building, while also promoting diversity and inclusion in the healthcare industry. BHPN's ultimate goal is to build a comprehensive directory of Black healthcare professionals to enhance representation and increase access to care for Black communities.

We are looking for a creative and dynamic social media manager to join our team and help us increase our social media following on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media and an understanding of the nuances of each platform, as well as a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion in healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase BHPN's following and engagement on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Create compelling and visually appealing content, including graphics, videos, and infographics, that aligns with BHPN's mission and values.
  • Manage the BHPN social media calendar, including scheduling and posting regular updates, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring analytics.
  • Collaborate with the BHPN team to create engaging campaigns and initiatives that promote networking, professional development, and community building among Black healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and engagement on BHPN's social media platforms.
  • Engage with the Black healthcare professional community on social media and build relationships with influencers and thought leaders to increase awareness of BHPN's mission and activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and a knack for storytelling.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools, such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social, as well as graphic design tools, such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or a strong interest in healthcare and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and metrics, with the ability to analyze data and use insights to inform social media strategy.
