Specific Details
The Legal team supporting the Consumer Banking division of Bank of America is looking for an experienced and! highly motivated attorney to join the Consumer Banking Servic! es Legal team. The position will primarily support Credit and Underwriting operations for Consumer and Small Business Lending, which involves responsibility for a wide range of activities that will require working with multiple Consumer Banking Services business partners, operations and technology partners, other legal teams, and Operational Risk, Compliance and Audit units. The position will focus on credit and underwriting strategies, modeling, technology, operations and customer experience, with an emphasis on Reg B, Reg Z and FCRA compliance, as well as a range of initiatives and procedures supporting the delivery of consumer and small business banking products and services.
Responsibilities include: Close interaction with business partners on emergent issues, audit and compliance matters, and day-to-day operations and governance; review of policies, procedures, processes. communications and models; production and delivery of training and tools to suppor! t business units; legal research; and monitoring/implementation of relevant legislative and regulatory developments.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
An attorney with at least 6-8 years consumer and business lending experience, and at least 10 years legal experience generally, is required. Prior experience with national credit card and/or unsecured lending institutions, or within a law firm performing similar functions for such clients, is required. Graduation from an accredited law school is also required.
Excellent communication skills required. Associate must be able to work independently and interface effectively with clients and Risk, Compliance and other Legal partners in multiple locations and time zones. Associate must be capable of handling multiple tasks amidst pressing deadlines; managing a substantial workload and client expectations; and interacting with associates and management at all levels. Due to the nationwide presence! of various clients and control functions, the associate must be able t! o accommodate deadlines that may often extend beyond normal business hours in her/his location.
Strong familiarity and experience with laws and regulations governing consumer banking and specifically consumer and business lending (e.g. Reg B, Reg Z, FCRA, UDAP/UDAAP laws and regulations, etc.) is required.

Strong organizational and communication skills, sound business judgment, strong academic credentials, and ability to work independently but also be an effective team member are preferred.
