Account Representative

Location: Newark Delaware

Description: AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions is in need of Account Representative right now, this career will be placed in Delaware. The AdvantEdge Account Representative provides customer service to patients, clients and insurance companies on a broad range of medical billing issues for our ambulance and private practice physician clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills, a professional phone demeanor and knowledge of the medical billing industry.

Essential Functions
Answers incoming phone calls from patients. Reviews patient records and histories to understand billing issues. Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints. Determine if outstanding balance is p! atient responsibility and inform patients of reasons for recei! pt of a bill, along with payment options.
Update patient record with revised insurance, responsible third party or other information, including claims information and adjustments.
Serve as point of contact for assigned ambyulance and physician clients. Interact with office managers or physicians directly to assist with requests, billing questions and handling patient inquiries.
Performs AR Follow up actions- claims that are unpaid by insurance companies require follow up work for status updates. Call insurance companies and/or attorneys to try to resolve the issue and receive payment.
May work the refund process for assigned client accounts. Investigates credits on accounts to determine whether a refund is due, and report back to Account Manager for payment processing.
Position will be required to provide back-up to other departments as needed. Will be required to share responsibility with other team members for running 1500 forms as needed.

Sup! erior customer service skills are essential. Candidate must have excellent phone and verbal communication skills. Must be able to speak with insurance companies, patients and clients while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor.
At least 1-2 years experience working as a phone representative in a customer service capacity.
Ability to understand and communicate medical billing and reimbursement procedures.
Candidate must be a self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude.
Candidate must be highly dependable, and able to meet the strict attendance requirements required for the position.
Must be proficient with computers, be able to quickly navigate computer systems and type patient notes while on the phone with patients. Experience working with medical billing systems is a plus.
Able to perform all job responsibilities in an ethical, compliant manner consistent with the organization's values and the companys Corporate Compliance Progra! m.
High School diploma is required

Experience desired
! Knowledge of medical billing, insurance plans and reimbursement procedures is highly preferred.
