General Description:

The system is home to Delaware's only Level I trauma center, the only center of its kind between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Christiana Care also features a Level 3 neonatal intensive care unit, the only delivering hospital in the state to offer this level of care for newborns. A not-for-profit, non-sectarian health system, Christiana Care includes two hospitals with more than 1,100 patient beds, a home health care service, preventive medicine, rehabilitation services, a network of primary care physicians and an extensive range of outpatient services.

Christiana Care Health System is seeking qualified candidates for a Customer Service Representative opportunity that is available in the Department of Patient Financial Services located at the Health Care Center site in Newark. The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for providing vendor support for our internal and external collection agency as! related to customer issues/concerns. The responsibilities for! this position will primarily include a high level of customer service, understanding patient accounting and billing, and frequent contact with patients, insurance carriers, physician offices, attorney offices, hospital-based departments, collection agencies, and patient accounting departments.

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication
• Patient accounting experience preferred
• One to two years of experience in a customer service setting, preferably in a healthcare facility
• HIS and SMS experience preferred
