For detail informations about this occupation opportunity please read the description below. Description The Senior Counsel, R&D will report to the Assistant General Counsel, R&D. This is a strategic role that will be closely aligned to R&D business leaders and will be the primary lawyer for leg! al issues arising or impacting early stage R&D activities. The incumbent manages transactional legal support for R&D across all phases of development and therapeutic areas with particular focus on the iMEDs and Clinical Operations. The role will manage legal support for Clinical Operations, including business as usual issues that arise through AstraZeneca's agreements with CROs (Contract Research Organizations) and AROs (Academic Research Organizations). The Senior Counsel will provide legal support for complex research agreements (e.g., collaboration, sponsored research, professional services, and studentship agreements) which originate in the iMEDs and Pharmaceutical Development. In addition, the role will provide training and support of Global IP with respect to material transfer and patent rights agreements. Candidate Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Law degree
- Significant legal practice experience, preferably in global pharmaceutical, research and d! evelopment and regulatory areas, or other regulated industry
- Broad-based knowledge of laws and regulations governing pharmaceutical activities around the globe
- Strong proficiency in relevant legal practices, particularly complex R&D transactions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven skills in analyzing and solving complex legal issues and in managing complex legal projects Experience direction the legal work of professional legal staff (e.g., Paralegal)
- Proven ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
- Preference for candidates with 10 years of legal experience
- Preference for experience directing the legal work of professional legal staff
