Job Summary
Vibrant-America Clinical Laboratory, a new high-complexity lab in San Carlos, CA is seeking generalist Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team in a part-time position (NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED). The ideal candidate will have experience with high-throughput automated chemistry analyzers and high complexity testing, with hematology experience desirable. Responsibilities:
· The Technician is responsible to operate laboratory instruments and equipment. Trouble shoot and problem solve with laboratory instrumentation and assay systems as needed.
· Monitor and perform preventative maintenance as required for machine performance.
· Verify and keep meticulous and organized records of specimens, tests, instrument logs, and technical analyses.
· Label specimen tubes accurately and consistently.
· Identify sub-optimal specimens that require Clinical Laboratory Scientist attention and communicate with billing and CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientists) which tests are not performed due to sample issues.
· Place orders for patients end-outs to reference laboratory, preparation of the samples, and notification of the reference laboratory when there are no samples for pickup.
· Achieve processed samples into samples racks, log into LIS and keep samples refrigerated. Remove expired samples from refrigerators.
· Assist with shipping and receiving activities when required. This includes preparation of specimen collection kits and prepping shippers for provider’s offices.
· Utilize the company Laboratory Information System as trained to do so.

· Ability to read, understand, and comply with detailed procedures that ensure the safety of all
· Must be flexible to work different shifts, such as Saturdays and evenings based on the needs of the lab
· Demonstrated ability to work both independently, following detailed work instructions, and as part of a cohesive team that together completes daily sample intake and processing in a timely manner
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties to meet timelines
· Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills are essential
