The primary focus of this position will be to open "orphan" mail, research internal databases to determine account! relationship and forward mail to appropriate area for handling. This mail will include a number of subpoenas, garnishments and levies so having previous experience dealing with these at a law firm would be important. They will be working with a large volume and so need to be very organized. The hours will be 9-5 with some flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, handling information requests and performing clerical functions
- Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors
- Takes messages or directs telephone calls and visitors
- Answers routine inquiries regarding office activities
- Types, collates, routes and files legal documents as directed by supervisors
- Types criminal complaints from dictation and clear copy
- Enters forfeiture information into computer database
- Sorts Department outgoing mail
- Retrieves files for court! and attorneys
