Position Description:
The purpose of State Filing Analyst is to submit filings of insurance forms, rates, rules and group eligibility requests in accordance with the laws and regulations of each jurisdiction; receive and coordinate responses to comment letters from state insurance department analysts; prepare notice of filing dispositions to the business division and maintain status reports and activity logs.
This role will be responsible for:
- Preparing state-specific transmittal forms
- Calculating filing fees for EFT, prepare check requisitions and submit through VIM/SAP
- Maintaining proper documentation of files (including correspondence via SERFF, I-File and e-mail correspon! dence)
- Preparing filing for SERFF submission (includi! ng Flesch scoring and PDF conversion of documents), complete all supporting documentation and certifications required by SERFF, I-File or paper filings and ensure that requisite s approvals have been obtained
- Obtaining state insurance regulations and statutes as necessary to assist in responding to state insurance department analysts’ inquiries
- Monitoring and tracking status of filings, including the preparation and posting of notices filing dispositions to Docushare as well as preparation of status reports and activity logs
- Being the “point of contact†for all regulatory inquiries related to filings submitted.
- Coordinating with business, lawyers and actuaries to obtain responses to state insurance department analysts’ comments and inquiries (includes drafting response letters) within established time frames
- Providing business unit with historical information on previous filings
Entry-! level technical experience required (0 to 1 years insurance industry experience)
- Typing and word processing skills; proficient in Windows applications including Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong reading comprehension skills and ability to pay close attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Basic legal research skills and understanding of NILS
- Ability to navigate websites
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to act independently and be a self-starter in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to handle a large and diverse workload.
This State Filings Analyst will be expected to complete designated development courses offered as assigned
