Description: Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP is employing Litigation Paralegal - Delaware right now, this occupation will be settled in Delaware. Working in a growing branch office of a highly prestigious, international law firm, the paralegal in this position will provide administrative ca! se support to attorneys who provide advice to and handle litigation for clients in both state and federal courts, particularly the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Responsibilities

Organize documents and coordinate document productions â€" Conduct the bates-stamping, redaction, duplication, and indexing of documents. Set up and maintain files, organized chronologically, numerically, and/or by subject matter.

Prepare and maintain case files â€" Prepare and coordinate all office case files and oversee handling between offices.

Conduct document searches and factual research â€" Create and maintain internal case databases, run searches on internal and external document databases and systems, and cull relevant information from a variety of resources.

Prepare for depositions â€" Under attorney supervision, gather and prepare documents relevant to the deposition, prepare binders or files, organize exhibits, take notes and handle exhibits dur! ing the deposition if requested, and digest transcripts.
Court filings â€" Work with attorneys in the preparation and filing of state and federal court documents (motions, briefs, etc.). Proofread, cite check, and insure that all documents comply with filing requirements, court practices, and chambers preferences. Prepare and distribute paper copies where required.

Act as liaison with various internal departments and outside vendors/agencies â€" Coordinate with and oversee the progress of projects through litigation support departments and outside vendors, order transcripts from reporting services, and fulfill requests from firm attorneys, outside counsel, and others.

Prepare for and attend trials -- Organize exhibits, files, and other supporting documents, coordinate trial set-up and logistics, assist attorneys in the courtroom by taking notes, handling exhibits, and marking documents, assist in the preparation of witness testimony, and serve as liaison between trial attorneys and in-house staff.

R! equired Skills

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Minimum 3 years of prior work experience as a litigation paralegal required.

Experience with the Court of Chancery practice and procedures required.

Experience with federal litigation, in particular bankruptcy litigation preferred.

Proficiency in e-filing in both state and federal courts required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point) required.

Typing skills required.

Prior experience with Lotus Notes helpful.

Must be:

  • Professional, proactive, energetic, and hardworking team player.
  • Comfortable as the sole paralegal in a growing, evolving litigation practice.
  • Exceptionally well organized and detail oriented.
  • Highly skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to lift and move large! boxes and case files when necessary.
  • Able to act with a sense! of urgency when necessary.
  • Available to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, if needed, potentially on short notice.
  • Willing to carry and monitor a Blackberry or other electronic device during non-standard business hours.
  • Able to cultivate and sustain professional working relationships with attorneys and staff in a small office environment.
  • Able to effectively interact with all levels of firm personnel, in all Paul, Weiss offices, as well as with outside counsel,
clients, and vendors.
